We are delighted by your interest in actively participating in the Artists' Night on June 27 and 28, 2026 at the Orangery in Darmstadt.

You can apply either

to participate in the exhibition, e.g. with paintings, photographs, installations, or sculptures, or
to be part of the program of performing artists, e.g. as a musician, singer, actor, dancer, or spoken word artist.

You work in the fields of painting, printmaking, photography, video, collage, installation, sculpture, object art, etc.?

Please note the following guidelines for your potential contributions:

Hanging from the ceiling or walls is not permitted.
All installations must be freestanding and stable.
The maximum size for a work to be hung on a display wall is 160 x 160 cm; larger formats may need to be placed on the floor.
The use of an easel is also permitted.

There is no guarantee for placement on the display walls. We reserve the right to select the works for the display walls, keeping the overall impact on the exhibition in mind, so that each exhibited work is presented in the best possible way. We also reserve the right not to include certain works in the exhibition and ask for your understanding in this matter.

The Artists' Night is not a sales exhibition. The exhibited works must remain on display until the end of the exhibition.

Performing Arts

Terms of Participation:

You can apply either

to participate in the exhibition, e.g. with paintings, photographs, installations, or sculptures, or

Please note that we will not pay you for participating in the Artists' Night.

Participants are responsible for their own accommodation in Darmstadt.

We do not charge a participation fee for the artists, but we welcome donations to help finance the Artists' Night.

We will again create an online artist catalog. We request the necessary detailed information after the final selection of exhibited and performed works.

The exhibition setup begins on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with the participation of all visual artists. The sound check for the performing artists will be arranged individually at a later time.

Around 3:00 p.m., all participants will meet for a joint, internal kick-off meeting.

The Artists' Night is open to the public on Saturday, June 27, from 4:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on Sunday, June 28, from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. During this time, block events (e.g., opening and closing receptions) and guided tours of the exhibition will take place, and the participating artists are encouraged to attend.

After the joint clean up on Sunday evening starting at 6:00 p.m., an after-party with all participants and staff is planned to celebrate the Artists' Night, exchange feedback, expand networks, and deepen friendships.

The presence of the participating visual artists is highly encouraged on both days.
